The Seed:
| "It amazes me that, given the opportunity
to submit even the most unbelievably stupid
or trite quote, so many people take the
opportunity to confirm, by trying it out,
that the opportunity really does
extend to the most unbelievably stupid
or trite quote.
So perhaps computers with Internet access
should have analyzers, much like the
breathalyzers that can be attached to automobile
ignitions. Then the computers could check
to see whether people are drunk or sleep-deprived
before allowing the people to post quotes,
Usenet news, email, etc."

You're right. What we need is more regulation, and more laws. Stupidity not only should be, but can be outlawed! Heck, this analyzer idea of yours doesn't go far enough. Before posting e-mail, quotes, or news, the computer could check your credit (wouldn't want anyone without cash to be espousing their opinion!), your gene map (bar anyone with anti-whatever genetic tendencies!), your religion (we can't allow heathens to consume valuable bandwidth!), or maybe your astrology chart (no e-mail for you while mercury is in retrograde!). Just think, computers have given us the means to create the perfect world! Thank you, oh wise and experienced one, for showing us the way!
BTW, I think your quote might have set off the little red light on your analyzer......
